I found this Soviet-era floral baika at a flea market in Chișinău, sold by an elderly woman. This soft, brushed fabric was traditionally used for warm pyjamas and house robes.
I transformed it into a long autumn–winter skirt with generous tiers and colourful pocket lining. Its orange leaves and white dots look like autumn meeting the first snow.
With its sale, a field maple will be planted. A photograph will be shared on our Instagram.
Materials: Repurposed Soviet-era brushed flannel (baika), likely cotton or a cotton blend; exact composition unknown. Elasticated waistband and printed pocket lining.
