The dusty-pink fabric comes from the same flea-market piece from Călărași, once bought by an older woman who planned to make herself a skirt. For this version, I combined it with a black-and-pink remnant from a friend, a floral pocket and pink rickrack.
One fabric carried an unfinished idea; the other arrived through friendship.
With its sale, a Black Lace elder will be planted—a perennial shrub with nearly black leaves and delicate pink flowers. A photograph will be shared on our Instagram.
